Information about the Pradeshiya Sabha Jurisdiction
Akurana Pradeshiya Sabha area about 6 miles from the historic city
of Kandy comprising of 35 Grama Niladhari Divisions and 90 villages in the
Harispattuwa Electorate in the Kandy District of the Central Province. Spread
over two sides, it covers an area of 32.39 sq km and covers an area of 805
acres, making it the smallest Divisional Secretariat in the Kandy District.
Also, the size of this division covers 1.04% of the land area.
Akurana Pradeshiya Sabha jurisdiction is bounded by Matale
boundary in the north, Paathadumbara divisional secretariat division in the
south and east and Pujapitiya regional secretariat division in the west.
This jurisdiction is home to multi-religious and multi-cultural
community. This area has a high population and population density it shows
semi-urban nature.

Mr. Suleiman was appointed as the first chairmen of the Akurana Pradeshiya Sabha and until
now ,under the leadership of sevaral chairmen,vice chairmen and secretaries
have been provided many services related to public health ,public roads and
utility services to the people. At the
present, honorable Mr. I.M
Isthihar as a chairman ,is working to the render a grate service to the
general public of the jurisdiction.
